Kein Befund
some notes on the sound as it was performed in the "live" context: the drones were on the main sound system, very heavy on the sub bass. the clicks came from the rear speakers only. the guitar theme came out of a tiny speaker positioned on the stage (so in the back of the actors). an all different, spatial experience compared to this "flat" linear rendering.
music hack day
I can't be at http://berlin.musichackday.org, so Tilda and I prepared our contribution here at home.
Live at Seefa Berlin, 2007
A live set that had been recorded by some radio station. I loved that festival so much (Kangding Ray played after me!), and I love the introduction you can hear at the beginning, never felt so flattered during a liveshow. When listening to it from distance, I have a considerable feeling I was using my monome and FX a bit too heavily – but I hope that's just typical headaches when looking back at something you created yourself (I would actually like to re-record all of my records today!)
City of Kiruna (unfinished)
I started this some time ago as a dedication to the City of Kiruna, the northernmost city of Sweden. I got to know the city through Henning Bock, who shot the photos for my record "We don't know why ..." there sometime in winter. The City of Kiruna will be completely relocated within the next decade due to newly detected mining resources. More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiruna
To and fro (Nitrada version)
A remix I did for Finn. He asked me to do it when we spent some time together in the mountains in Italy and I actually started working on it over there right away.
No demo mode
I made this for playing live exclusively, so what you hear is a rendered liveset excerpt, kind of. RIP Machinedrum (I sold it some months ago ...).
Walk
Played this track live here and there and there. It was originally based on or around this idea of using some kinda western style guitar line in the background ...
Dirty beats
My oldskool breakbeat side. I was messing around with some new musical tools for that one.
Wir machen ein Programm
This one's rather ironic – but I totally wanted to create something around an old radio drama about computer generated music I found as a 7" record on some flea market. Damn, the mixing/sound quality is really bad, but anyways ... Includes some heavy "Kaoss Pad" scratching. Listen carefully! :-)
The sex moment
Don't ask me about the title. I provided this for download on a very old version of my website nitrada.com.
Krsavice
I did this sketch around 2004 when I had just finished mixing my record "We don't know why but we do it". Since ages, I always had the urge to write and produce music one could actually dance to. A need that is still coming back here and there. And then I had this really weird experience, when I was playing in Hamburg's "Golden Pudel Club" opening for (Chris) Clark, where I decided to play a "seriously abstract and irritating set", but suddenly people started dancing although there was no beat.
Good and dead (industrial version)
Don't ask. But I called the mp3 "industrial" back then. I had a reason, I guess.
Good and dead (soundscape version)
This was actually released on some CDr that came with some magazine a long time ago, I just don't remember how it was called, where it was and when.
Go away and take your cocaine with you
That's a really old track (2000?) I only played on liveshows here and there and which I casually recorded one day.
Soundtrack for Fork Showreel
Might be a bit boring to listen to without seeing the visuals, but I uploaded it here anyways. I made this some time ago for a portfolio showreel of Fork Unstable Media (www.fork.de).
Beautiful track! Almost I can almost hear the sound of reversed guitars even though there aren't any. I'd love to hear more! Oh, the guitars remind me slightly of some work by the guitarist from Chicago Underground (can't remember his name), great stuff.
