02 - Word Play - Beat Play (live w Caliph8)
Live version of one of those dark Dnb tunes from 2002... with Caliph8 on vox. Recorded at Sanctum in Intramuros. This tune was lost to the last laptop thief encountered.. It only remains on rubberinc.multiply.com in a stupidly low bit depth until they shut our site down next year.
Pagdating ng Panahon
After many requests.... here you go. This is our official rework of the Iza original. Originally produced as music for a ballet performance by Ballet Philippines and choreographed by Denisa Reyes. This was probably the single most popular Philippine pop song of the year, when prefaced with 2 theater actors improvising a scene taken from Rizal's Noli Me Tangere it will either make sense to you or not. You can skip through the bossa into but the track won't have any impact without the spoken introduction. When this was first performed we were very interested in the idea of 3D sound and there is alot of strange phase induced positioning, I don't know if this will translate into an mp3 but if you have a nice setup at home let us know if the bass behind you makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up... Noypi!
Phun
This tune was written around 2002-3[?] the tune was made in complete isolation but then we jammed with Karl Roy twice in the studio in improv recordings... and then I harvested from his tracks and dropped a vocal in, it seemed appropriate at the time. I must find the masters as somewhere we have 2 hours of Karl just doing improv recorded decently. Karl only 'appears' twice in this track but the tune certainly fitted our relationships, our music and our lives. At once; mellow but longing, melancholy put hopeful, Stupid but fun, intelligent but crass and knowing but innocent. Travel well brother. Hence thank you Karl for the music, the performances, the collaborations, the offer of a lift home (that I made to you in 95), the make up, the flavors, the spice. May your journey continue on the path that you shared with us; a very open mind and a big middle finger close behind. Punk IS dead, it had to die to get funky; but only you'll get that. PLUR.
